The Mid-Autumn Festival (Simplified Chinese: 中秋节; Traditional Chinese: 中秋節; pinyin: zhōngqiūjié), is a popular Chinese celebration of abundance and togetherness, dating back over 3,000 years to China’s Zhou Dynasty. It is also called the Moon Festival as it is celebrated when the moon is believed to be the biggest and fullest.
Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival, which takes places on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. In 2018 it’s on September 24th. In Chinese tradition, the festival means family reunion and peace. It is a great opportunity to think about family and friends no matter if they are near or far from us!
Another tradition at the Mid-Autumn Festival is mooncakes. That’s why it’s sometimes called the Mooncake Festival for a traditional baked delicacy exchanged among family and friends. Central Mansions wishes to celebrate this important festival by offering mooncakes to all our guests so they can bring the tradition home and share this Chinese specialty with their loved ones.
On behalf of Central Mansions Luxury Serviced Apartments, we would like to wish all of you a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 中秋节快乐!
